ROBERT MCLAUGHLIN is a board member of Gobal Research and Rescue, grr and a University of Washington Graduate (BS Environmental Studies) Has a U.S. Coast Guard License, 100 ton, master of Steam, Motor, and Sail Boats. He is also a Licensed Private Pilot, Emergency Medical Technician - Certified SCUBA diver, and a licensed Amateur Radio Operator. Bob was also district representative to United States Senator Henry M Jackson. Bob has done Film and documentary consulting and production for companies that have included Warner Brothers, the Jean Michael Cousteau Institute, Fisher Entertainment, Cox Broadcasting, CNN, German Television, National Geographic, Nature Magazine, the Seattle Times, Paramount television, ABC, NBC, CBS, and FOX television. Close up marine mammal documentation has occurred working with the holder of permit #954-1517.

Bob is also a Marine and Environmental reporter for Pacific Northwest Radio and Television stations. In 2002, hundreds of hours were accumulated working with killer whale Springer (A73) in the Puget Sound area and in British Columbia waters. This work included doing organized observations under the direction of NMFS Northwest region. Also, informational data was taken by film (video and photography) and acoustic means with the results and information being passed onto researchers and governmental staff both in the US and in Canada. There was further observational work undertaken in Canada on A73, including radio tracking.
